Microsoft SQL Server is Microsofts attempt to compete in the Enterpise Database market. SQL Server is quite capable of handling millions of records at competetive speeds. Microsoft provides extremely good management tools, however these this comes at a price. Enterprise versions of Microsoft SQL Server can be quite expensive, but still competetive when compared to its competitors such as Oracle.
