Facility: Our main facility is built
with redundancy in mind. Our datacenter is nestled in a category
5 hurricane rated building, protected by 2 solid independent
walls of concrete. The power comes from 2 independent power
grids. If our municipal power were to fail, our center runs
on battery backup until one of our two generators kick in.
All of our fiber optic connectivity comes into the facility
via 2 fiber vaults on opposite sides of the building. GepCom
also mainatins servers at 2 different geographic locations
in Dade and Palm Beach counties.
Hosting
Connection: Our network is comprised
of four Tier 1 carriers that all have a Point of presence
in our building. Each provider hands us a fiber optic GigE
connection(1000Mbps). This is equivalent to 2 OC-12’s
or about 22 T-3’s. We currently route traffic through
Williams Communication, UUNet, Sprint, and MFN. Each one of
these connections is routed through out redundant Cisco routers
and then out to our core switches.
